Warning, spoilers for the fourth episode of the fifth “Lucifer” season!

In the fifth season of “Lucifer” fans of the charming devil (Tom Ellis) and his investigative work with police officer Chloe (Lauren German) will again be offered the usual fantasy thriller fare. The fourth episode of the season is a little out of line. Lucifer also solves a tricky case here, but in the past.

The prince of Hell tells Chloe’s daughter Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) about how he came into possession of his ring in New York in 1946. We then get the story presented as a black and white flashback with references to classic noir detective films. The focus is particularly on Lily Rose alias Lilith, the owner of the ring at the time and mother of Lucifer’s demon companion Maze.

While Maze actress Lesley-Ann Brandt plays the young Lily Rose in retrospect, we later catch a glimpse of Lilith, who has become mortal and therefore aged, later in the present, and who is then played by actress L. Scott Caldwell. If it sounds familiar to you, you may have watched “Lost” …

the mortal and consequently aged Lilith, who is then played by actress L. Scott Caldwell.

This is L. Scott Caldwell

Laverne Scott Caldwell’s cinema and TV career dates back to the 1980s. While her roles on the big screen are quite manageable (she made more prominence about 1993 in “On the Flucht” alongside Tommy Lee Jones The Hunt for Harrison Ford), she has been seen in numerous series – and still is til today.

In the recent past she has guest roles in “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Criminal Minds”, “CSI: Vegas” and “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”, among others. In series such as “How To Get Away With Murder” and “Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina” she was even in several episodes (in the latter as Nana Ruth, the grandmother of Sabrina’s best friend Roz).

L. Scott Caldwell undoubtedly owes her best-known role to the mystery hit “Lost”. Here she was part of the ensemble throughout the six seasons as Rose Nadler, whose cancer is being cured by the mysterious forces of the island yesmovie.

Even if her role was smaller in later seasons, she was there in a total of over 20 episodes – including the first and the very last episode.

By the way, almost parallel to the fifth season of “Lucifer”, Caldwell also played a leading role in the miniseries “Love In The Time Of Corona”, which focuses on love and relationships during the Corona crisis. The four episodes ran on US television in August 2020. It is unclear whether they will also find their way to Germany.
